The Artist
At Purple Butterfly Studios, every design is a tribute to transformation and individuality. Inspired by the butterfly—the age-old symbol of rebirth—and the purple butterfly’s embodiment of grace and strength, Wendy’s handcrafted pieces echo her tagline: Grace in Every Change, Strength in Every Piece.
Wendy, founder, metal artist & visionary at Purple Butterfly Studios is based in the vibrant Greater Vancouver region and a graduate of the Vancouver Community College’s Metal Art and Design Program. Since then, her passion for metalwork has flourished as she experiments with sterling silver, copper, and gold, blending traditional craftsmanship with contemporary flair.

Each piece is deeply rooted in the natural beauty of the West Coast and the dynamic culture of the Lower Mainland. Whether it’s whimsical earrings or meaningful bespoke jewellery, Wendy creates keepsakes that celebrate individuality and personal evolution—pieces crafted with heart to accompany each wearer’s unique story.
In 2025, Wendy continues to expand her creative footprint. She’s stepping into leadership as the incoming President of the Vancouver Metal Arts Association (VMAA), an artist-run society promoting metalsmithing and art jewellery in Greater Vancouver.
Alongside her role at VMAA, Wendy is also honoured to serve as an Artist in Residence for 2025 at the Printermedia Residency for Metal Arts, held in partnership with the Malaspina Printmakers Society on Granville Island. Her residency reflects her commitment to exploration and mentorship, as she collaborates with fellow artists and brings new depth to her studio craft.
